Armitage’s influence on UK culture

Just saw this December notice from the Mail Online that theorizes that the upswing in the number of infants named Lucas is related to Mr. Armitage’s role in Spooks. I’d love it if that were true, but I’d guess instead that it’s a name that is trending upward anyway, and the general growth was why the writers gave the character that name. It is a really great spy name, though, and makes me sorry for the poor British portrait and food photographer with the same name as the character. I ran across his website last night. He must have to pay his host for a lot of extra non-germane hits, so I won’t send you there.
