Richard Armitage Legenda 77: Stuff worth reading
Legenda offers a brief, non-inclusive index of stuff about Richard Armitage that I noticed and enjoyed since the last episode. It doesn’t usually include materials presented on the major fansites, which I love dearly, but which are linked in the sidebar. Because I always forget or just miss stuff, please add additional pieces of interest via link in the comments.]

A shorter one this time, because although the last one was late, I am going to try to hang on to the Saturday date as the spring term ends and we go into summer term. But the day may change. Watch this space.

Coolest thing ever!
Angie’s blog got picked up in the publicity blitz in Sydney this week! Couldn’t happen to a nicer person, and as a former journalist, she must, I guess, be really pleased at the recognition! Give her some love!

- Another blogger who was at the Sydney Q & A.
- Post-Richard Comedown.
- On celeb interactions with fans and pride in being a fan of Armitage.
- A dream of getting to go to Sydney from someone on the other side of the world, and an interpretation of the dream.
- Tolkien, Jackson, Armitage and epic heroes.
- Guylty on photographers’ work and why one should think twice about indiscriminate snaffling.
- Richard Armitage interviews made her feel better!
- Richard Armitage lights up the chakras.
- What’s up with the slow distribution of the Robert Ascroft photo shoot?
- Do not despair; your “Staged” DVD is coming!
- Guy of Gisborne soap? Some people’s friends are really creative.
- Richard Armitage and the Fountain of Youth.
Well, well, well
Seriously. Richard III. You’re not too old!
Quick clarification, because I’ve been asked so many times — although I/Servetus may have personal preferences, “me + richard armitage” has no official opinion on what work Richard Armitage should or should not do, and is unlikely to express a specific one with much forcefulness. (This position was articulated long ago; see arguments here or here, for instance.) I definitely want Armitage to get what Armitage wants.
Richard III makes it onto Legenda and this blog because Mr. Armitage himself has said so many times (even before current fans started asking him) that it’s a project that interests him. The second that Richard Armitage says, in so many words, “I’ll never do Richard III,” I’ll be done with this, or conversely, the second he says, “I’d love to do ____________ [fill in name of any other current projects that fans have formed support networks for, or indeed any project at all],” I’ll be right there, cheering him and the project on.

Mature Richard Armitage-related fanfic
Make sure you read warnings on any of this stuff before continuing past the beginning.
- “Love is a Wound” (RH / Guy + OC / some chapters explicit or violent) goes to ch. 11 on Wattpad.
- A fanfic inspired by Armitage’s remark about Thorin’s potential success in a cage fight with Dwalin.
- A sort of metafic by an author struggling past writer’s block on RAucous. Explicit, RPF, structurally interesting, and honest as hell. Really, if you like either the philosophical/narrative possibilities of fanfic or just plain smut you should love this.
- I’ve vaguely ashamed to admit I loved this filthy piece of porn: Triple Durincest!
Tumblr
Reminder: these may be NC-17.
- Lots of Armitage ice cream!
- Probably one of my favorite Guyday Friday graphics ever! Hope her computer gets better.
- Tweeting among the dwarves who tweet about whether Thorin would really win a cage fight.
- Beautiful drawing of our guy.
- A confession re: the off center nose.
- Where one confessor would like to feel the Armitage beard.
- The youthful GO POP interviewers with Armitage.
- Mashup of Armitage with Martin Freeman. Interesting.
OT, collateral attractions, and things I think about
- Xenia’s going back to school. Give her some love!
- Prue Batten’s Gisborne novel, which started as a fanfic, has been nominated for an award. Congratulations to Prue! She was interviewed on this blog about the novel when it came out, starting here.
- Kathryn continues with historical sketches of her family: this time, Uncle Will.
- Peter Firth quoted as saying he’s getting ready to make a Spooks film in the Fall. I can’t imagine who else will be in it. Wasn’t every British actor “killed off” during the making of the series?
- Via Obsessive Behavior: Popcorn Taxi host thankful that the fans at his The Hobbit event weren’t the “Will you kiss me, Richard?” type. You know, there’s nothing wrong with being an “OMG, will you kiss me, Richard?” type of fan. Actually, I suspect that many of the audience members were that kind of fan — because it’s not like being intelligent or thoughtful or well-read and crushing on an actor are mutually exclusive pursuits. Speaking as a fan who’s both well-read and actively cultivates “kissing Armitage” fantasies, it is enraging to read that kind of thing. Yes, movie folks and industry critics, we know you’ve got us coming and going. Maybe that’s why we’ve become reluctant to pay your salaries.
- Interview with Rupert Everett: “Sex is Over.” Ah, but motivation, desire are not.

Thanks for the links – I hadn’t read the Popcorn Taxi transcript, but now I know to skip the hosts opening remarks for the sake of my blood pressure!

Unfortunately, it’s been scrubbed in line with the interviewer’s prejudices. So I’d suggest reading some of the summaries that appeared on tumblr and elsewhere.

I did see something along that line and a rather crass comment about wet seats…really? Why is that necessary in anyway?
