Yep, I have noticed it, too. But it doesn’t take anything from it XD

I had difficulty averting my gaze 😉!! Those trousers look tight and slightly shiny. I wonder whether he used a stylist for the occasion?!

They don’t look tight when he’s standing though.

it’s true that since his episode with Ilaria he’s been wearing tighter trousers, I think. She didn’t claim credit for this one, though. This is the kind of outfit that looks like a personal shopper could put it together, though. Very casual.

Ilaria Urbinati was his stylist through the period of the Hobbit events — she did all of the Hobbit events and some of the intervening ones (the WonderCon or whatever it was for Into the Storm). Sorry — I did not mean a tv episode if that is what you were thinking.

I’ve been waiting for that to come up. Hard not to stare at it. I know, it’s always hard not to stare at it, since it generally has a “presence”, but dampness really draws the eye.

I was really tempted to write an ode about this, but my wise mind prevailed. It would be more than a little gross to wax poetic about crotch sweat. In fact, I feel guilty mentioning it. But it has been unusually hot and humid in So Cal lately and the “dampness” is probably unavoidable in certain circumstances.

No doubt. And we forget that just because men don’t bleed doesn’t mean they have their own issues. I thought it was interesting that we saw no pictures of him drinking water from this whole event. He usually seems to be drinking like he’s been in a desert for days at these events, and that probably also affects the propensity to sweat.

Good point. He almost always seems to have a bottle of water handy during these type of events. I don’t think we will see him wearing light pants again in these weather conditions. Or does he even look at these pics?

Ok, divulging tmi, but it’s not unusual for my bra and/or underpants to be pretty wet depending on activity level on the really gross days. I don’t think I can be the only one. Not a lot that can be done about it. It’s obvious that he had no idea, no one told him, and still should have been removed before the pics were posted.

men sweat more than women, and stress sweat comes regions with more hair follicles. Also I assume that the male physiology is invested in keeping that region as cool as possible for evolutionary reasons.
I’m guessing no one told him because people aren’t usually looking between his legs. Well, polite people anyway, lol 🙂 Fans are a different matter.

I can’t imagine that he wouldn’t have known though. I believe the suit is not a natural material so maybe it’s the angle of the camera. It is a bit strange though. Was he the only one on the panel sitting with his legs open?

my textile expert on Twitter (ex prof of textile technology) says she thinks it’s got a linen component.

Definitely agree there is linen but also believe something artificial – aside from this one snafu it’s a gorgeous suit – looked off white, grayish and bluish depending on the light. Plus the glimpse of ankle is tantalizing.
What are his shoes – Fred Perry?

A closer look suggests that they do have laces, but in the US men’s Hugo Boss store I don’t see any shoes that have the label on the upper in the place that these have them, parallel to the lacing of the shoe.

I was thinking Lacoste but they don’t have the two toned hue with different coloured sole. The Hugo Boss shoes do have the two toned. There’s got to be an armitage clothing expert in this fandom, right?!
I can’t even imagine guessing on the suit! (Though if Hugo Boss shoes, then likely same suit I would think)

well, perception of hue is going to be affected by lighting.
There used to be some people who really loved to chase this stuff down but no one lately. Jonia used to blog about this a lot but she hasn’t posted in at least two years.

That pale grey is a nightmare when wet but it is slightly odd that it wasn’t cut out of image. It will be interesting to see if he no longer sits like this in subsequent interviews. Perhaps he will go back to black!

That seems to be a pretty standard position for him both in panels and individual interviews. Probably subconscious and most comfortable for him. Doubt that will change.
