Richard Armitage as Guy of Gisborne in Robin Hood 1.7 (this is the stolen necklace scene). My caps.
I promise I’ll actually say something as soon as my grading’s finished, but for now putting this on my screen makes the whole exercise easier. Even if this is Guy at his worst.

Glove porn . . . I love it. So wrong and yet, so right.
Why do I forgive Guy so very much? He both touches my heart and thrills me to the core. Something visceral . . .

Love that he repeated it in Spooks 8!

I always love when a touch of Guy appears in another character. And Lucas’s Glove Love as the courier made me grin madly! Also when Lucas went roaring into that swimming pool for the punch up with *giggle* Robinov.

Especially as Lucas was to have been firmly embargoed from any any hint of Guy leather. (Producers must have seen the light – then.. )

Apparently the folks at Kudos did not completely lose their marbles until S9 . . . Lucas certainly looked good in that black leather, too. 😀

I hope TPTB at SB don’t lose their marbles too! I was just thinking today that if he is only in a few episodes of SB2 and we don’t know if there will be an SB3 or if he will be in it, where are we going to see him after TH is finished? At least when he was in some kind of series there was a chance of seeing him a number of times plus in DVD’s of the series and I know we all wish him to be in more movies but we may be heading for more “droughts” than ever before. I hate the idea that there is no more Lucas (and I DO mean Lucas, not the one they turned him into) as I truly miss him – and JP and JT and . . . . well, you catch my drift!! Yes I do have DVD’s of SB and RH and Spooks etc but can’t live on those forever! All that sounds very depressing. Forgive me! Guess I’m in a melancholy mood tonight 😦 Should be in bed as it’s after midnight and I’m rather tired. Dare I hope for a “dreamy” night? 🙂

Teucher, agree with you… we can’t live on those forever. Just ordered 6 DVD’s from Amazon UK of some of his previous TV programs aside from what I’ve got at home. I need some more to complete the collection.
Cheers!

I love those curls, too. Spouse’s hair curls like that when it gets any length to it—*squee*

@Teuchter, it’s tantalising to speculate on apres Hobbit. It seems to be the first time in a year/2 years, that there hasn’t been a new or overlapping project announced. Like you, I’ve looked forward to the next TV series, and the DVDs, and catching up on the previous body of work. If it were up to me, Mr. Armitage would make one quality (Indie?) movie a year, interspersed with a new TV series. (not to forget a 2-part Harry&Gerrie sequel – three weeks’ shooting). I guess we’d have to give him a six month theatre run. Oh dear, no time for skiing…
Not that we’re selfish or anything.

@fitzgj4, I keep hoping that when he said in that Spooks interview that he’d “like to do something nice and calm and all about LOVE” that he really meant it! (I loved that interview and keep thinking of those wonderfully expressive hands when he spoke!) I can think of at least one book that if it were ever dramatized he would be the perfect romantic lead – *swoon* – and I’m not thinking of a remake of some old movie here. I’m sure some of you could think of some too! Suggestions anyone?

We’re not selfish, just totally hungry for new RA material… How many times we’ll have to rewatch all his stuff? (Though I’m not complaining.)

New photo of him or news are really sparse! Most news are told by 3rd party info. We just have to hope this would improve as the shooting of TH goes on. LOL

@Teuchter: John of Gaunt from Anya Seton’s Katherine. Been looking for the right actor since I was 14 – got him now!! 😀

I would love to see him play half-Gypsy/half-Scot inquiring detective Nicholas Brisbaine in a dramatization of the Victorian-period Lady Julia Grey Mysteries. He would be perfect–tall, dark-haired, with a physique not unlike a Greek god; enigmatic, a touch angsty, but also capable of humor. And he plays the violin beautifully. 😀 Did I mention the character is really sexy? And Lady Julia is a wonderful heroine. Bright, discerning, witty and she knows a good thing when she sees it!

Almost forgot: Anne Perry’s William Monk!

Oh, yes. I am reading the latest Thomas/Charlotte Pitt novel by Perry and I was thinking about Monk . . . I agree, he’d be wonderful in that role.
I also would love to see him as Atticus Finch in a remake of To Kill a Mockingbird. He’d get to do a southern American accent, which I suspect would blow the doors off the one Stephen Moyer does for True Blood. 😉

Thank you so much for these recommendations fitzgj4 and Angieklong. I now have to find these books asap as I haven’t yet read them! You are fueling my imagination (as if it really needed to be more than it already is) 😀 One of the many characters I had in mind for him is Lord Damerel from Georgette Heyer’s “Venetia”, especially after listening to him read the book! Now THAT was swoonworthy!! I am now reading her “Devil’s Cub” novel and can hardly wait to see what this rake, the Marquis of Vidal, is going to get up to 😉

Teuchter,
You can find the Lady Julia Mysteries at Amazon. There are four of them now, all in paperback. Really well written with engaging characters.
And I agree, he’d be a grand Lord Damerel! 😀

Oh, and Nicholas really knows how to kiss a woman in an unforgettable way. Remind you of anyone? 😉

Made me cry I have to say 😦 For her to lose him just when you hoped that one day they could have got together. But I did feel that it seemed to end in a bit of a rush when you suddenly jump to when her star pupil is all grown up and appears about to begin to be a teacher herself, great though that was to see!

I don’t get it. Why is pulling off your gloves with your teeth sexy???
LikeLike
@marylou, perhaps it is because it is such an ORAL gesture. To stretch the imagery a bit, it involves a glove, which has a connection with the hand. The touching of hands, the kiss of a hand…In this scene, it is a violent gesture, to be sure. Nevertheless, the mouth and the glove (hand?) meet.
Anyone else?

@Marylou, I agree with Fitzg, and may I add it isn’t a sexy gesture made by just ANYBODY, either. But the very sensual Sir Guy, baring those lovely teeth in a wolfish gesture, tugging off that black leather . . . imagine him tugging off a piece of your attire, Marylou. You wouldn’t mind that at all, would you?

Come on girls! If it had been ANYONE else doing it we would be very blase about the whole scene but when it is Sir Guy then *swoon* – even though he is actually being nasty there. We forgive him for just about anything whereas in real life we would be shocked, even scandalized at some of the things he does!! When you watch his face and those riveting eyes of his that is all you focus on – not what he is up to!! My oh my, does he ever play the bad boy well 😀 The producers knew jolly well the effect he has on us. I think they even admitted on one of the DVD extras that the show had become sexy and I don’t think for a moment they meant JA!
