Servetus , why does this new pic pull on my heart strings .? Is it the bowed head , submissive , sad even repentant ?Is it the seething masculinity that oozes from the furrowed brow ?Or is it the sight of long long lashes and delicate ears that are crying out for kisses ? Gulp , Ive been armitaged again !

Jane, all of the above, methinks. “Pathos” was the word that jumped to my mind when I first glimpsed it. Another amazing image of an amazing actor.

Completely overwhelmed by this latest image. It made me very emotional I have to say. It still amazes me how he can convey so much merely in a picture. Seeing him “for real” will undoubtedly be mind-blowing.

I never thought I would say this, but I’m almost thankful I can’t be there in person now. I’m not sure if I could handle all the emotion it would surely invoke! Naturally I’m thrilled for anyone who is able to go! I just love the idea that people who love him will be in the audience.

I think he’s going to get a lot of direct positive affirmation, judging from the numbers of fans I see buying tickets.

I’m writing this without looking at the picture because I’m not fully recovered from the first one. In case you wondered. The Crucible is starting to feel like it’s my laptop…too hot to handle this summer.
okay….nope haven’t looked yet…

the reason I didn’t post the very large one on my blog was sort of related to this. I wanted to have a blog after I pushed publish and I was afraid of what would happen.

Seems legit. There might have been a detonation, or at the very least, an inferno.

Uh oh, I’m afraid all the Valrhona chocolate, with vanilla yoghurt & berries pancakes in the world aren’t going to fix this one. Toss me the key to that cage, will you? I need to be locked back up for a bit!
It’s just a damn picture….how does he do that? And what can be done with singed eyebrows, they’ll grow back right?

I interviewed a beautiful and talented young woman from my hometown, just out of college and working in NYC in an office job with a dance company and serving as a nanny to two children. In her free time–what of it there is– she is part of a choreography collaboration. Her mother is the dance instructor at her own school, the one who put on the fantastic recital we shot this weekend.
Here’s what this young artist said when I asked what qualities in a character or role most intrigued her and drew her to them . . . just made me think of RA somehow and what this stage role will be like for him.
“Hmm good question! It’s not that I have certain roles I like to dance, more so it’s certain emotional levels I like to go to. The dance, or character, I am i want it to be very emotionally invested. I want to be able to go to the extremes of hope, hatred, horror, sorrow, excitement! I want the audience to tangibly feel what I am feeling. The vulnerability of going all the way inside of an emotion in front of a crowd is the best feeling ever. So the more extreme of an emotional role it is the better!”
BTW her name is Courtney Rice . . . and you just might see her on Broadway one day. She performed to a segment of the soundtrack of “Harry Potter” this weekend and it sent chills down my spine–in a good way.

Yes, stunning, as always, but what’s with the outfit..? That scarf and coat seems a little too modern for the Salem witch trials period.

I very much doubt that this will be a historicizing production. There is divergence of opinion on that, of course. But the selection of director and designer both point in the direction of non-historicizing.
