Did Richard Armitage text Ilaria Urbinati about Ocean’s 8 red carpet options?

[Stressing that we have no information at all about this topic — including whether Richard Armitage will even be there — which of course makes it a perfect topic for a blog post.]

***

[Perhaps of interest, consulted for this post: recent interviews with Ilaria Urbinati, conducted in conjunction with the recent release of her Strong Suits connection: in Forbes, in Fashionista, in Nordstrom blog, in the LA Times. James Corden is styled by Michael Fisher. I apologize for any malapropisms; I hardly text myself.]

    • I really wonder if he’ll be there. Maybe he’ll still be working on My Zoe. But if he is there I really wonder how he will be dressed. The women have been dressed up to the teeth this week. Three highly on trend outfits per day.

      • I love that she said headdesk and dropped him for Donald Glover, Riz Ahmed (who is pretty stylish) and Chris Evans all younger than Richard. The woman’s coolness factor over him like bless his heart he’s chasing her to help
him! Such the motif of the film girl power!

  5. I didn’t catch the ‘fake’ part at first. So initially it was painful to read: IU’s voice was casually cruel and I could just about see/hear Mr. Adorable/Adorkable saying those words. It’s obvious I need to seriously celebrate National Wine Day. Maybe my sense of humor is at the bottom of a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. You ARE a writer, MS.

    • Sorry about that (every image is marked with “fakemessage.com”, though). Maybe the fundamental piece of knowledge that you need to know to make this funny is that she doesn’t just take anyone. Back in 2012 when he debuted wearing her choices, there was a lot of chat about that — prospective clients had to audition. So that’s at the basis of the joke.

  10. 😂😂😂, that´s brilliant! You really have a talent for this. Thanks for the laugh. Hope it doesn´t mean you´re in a bad mood, though.
Anyway, if he needs a place for his Thorin dolls, he can send me all of them.

    • This post brought to you by Roger Goodell and the NFL (seriously). But I always feel better after I write them.

There was one year where an interviewer asked him what he wanted for Christmas and he said he wanted one of those Funko pop Thorin dolls. I always wondered if fans sent them to him. It’s one of the most popular dolls from that series, and a new one in the box sells for a three or four times its original price on the secondary market now. The manufacturer sold out several years ago. But the reason for the remark was that when he returned the clothes from his last Hobbit red carpet, the LA one where he wore the plaid double breasted suit, he sent a handmaid Thorin doll to Ilaria with the return of the clothes, and she tweeted a picture of it b/c she thought it was cute (at that time, anyway 🙂 ).

      • I´m pretty sure some fans did send him dolls after that remark. And thanks for the background informations. Glad to hear you feel better. I don´t want you to be in bad mood, of course, but it´s always a pleasure to read something like this.
