Legenda 40: stuff worth reading

[Legenda offers a brief, non-inclusive index of stuff I noticed and enjoyed since the last episode. It doesn’t usually include materials presented on the major fansites, which I love dearly, but which are linked in the sidebar. Because I always forget or just miss stuff, please add additional pieces of interest via link in the comments.]

This florilegium comes a little early this week because it was pressing to clean out my email account if I am to get anything done this week.

Yes, I’ve just gotten “home.” Happily, without mishap. Well, it doesn’t feel like home. But although I got turned around getting there, the key I have did open my apartment, my stuff was still in there, and there was a parking place in front of the door. After having lived in a lot of places, I’ve discovered that I’ve got place-specific information stored in mid-term memory. It always takes me a day or so to remember where everything is … just hope I can remember where to find the grocery store. Still struggling with guilt vs. relief, but OMG the being alone, the being alone. And the fact that no major household appliance seems to have leaked and molded all over everything while I was gone.

The topper Richard Armitage story of the week and probably the month and maybe the year up till now: ItsJSforMe and her family meet Richard Armitage on the set of his new film. She mentions the experiences of RALover, which I also linked to earlier this week. Unspeakably, immensely pleasing on about a jazillion levels.

The topper story of the coming week is going to be Richard Armitage’s birthday. If you’re not up to speed on everything planned in advance, please check out my link from the middle of the week. And make sure you’re on the web on August 22nd. I have the feeling we’re going to see something super.

If you loved Richard Armitage this week, if your heart just melted when you saw those fan candids: send him a present — donate to one of his JustGiving charities!

  1. Hi Serv,
    I’m glad that you made it back to your campus home. Wishing you a wonderful year with great students! And hoping that your Mom fares well as she continues her recovery. You did yeoman’s–is there a female version of that term?–caregiving for your Mom over the Summer. And you have nothing to feel guilty about returning to your life now that school has started. I’m sure that you’ll be checking in with her regularly.

    School starts for us on Monday–though most of us have been here all Summer. I still have to do the data report for the Spring Course Evaluations. *Grati cringes at that admission*

    And thanks for mentioning my “Thorin’s Hope” story now being shared on my new Wattpad site. I’m still learning how it works and will upload longer stories soon.

    Wishing you a wonderful semester with:
    1) students who use #2 pencils on their opscans, ink on their essay questions, and type their papers;
    2) colleagues who are worthy of your esteem; of course, you will already have their esteem;
    3) and most importantly, a great parking space!

    Cheers! Grat ;->
