Legenda 43: Stuff worth reading

[Legenda offers a brief, non-inclusive index of stuff I noticed and enjoyed since the last episode. It doesn’t usually include materials presented on the major fansites, which I love dearly, but which are linked in the sidebar. Because I always forget or just miss stuff, please add additional pieces of interest via link in the comments.]

So. Guh. Still reeling.

The Sunne in Splendour group read plans are now complete. The schedule of activities is here; you can participate on twitter, or facebook, or possibly in other places, as well, as the event develops. I suspect that since this is the first time #ArmitageWatch has done this there’ll be some intermediate tweaking. I’ve been recruited to do a “fun” quiz. Hmmm. Reader beware!

Agzy promises a Richard III for Dummies series, perhaps especially useful for non-native readers of English.

KRA Week 2012 charity challenge winner IngeD3 wants our money to go to ChildLine, where it will go on Monday. (You know my feelings on this topic already, I suspect. But yeah!) Thanks to everyone who participated!

At the dig in Leicester, they’ve already confirmed that the car park is the location of Greyfriars’ Church. More info about the results so far can be found here (bottom of page, Leicester News).

  1. Re the crow’s feet, if they become a problem for him onscreen, there are definitely things that can be done nowadays w/o resorting to big-time plastic surgery( which is what I wouldn’t want him to do).

I remember when Angela Lansbury was filming Murder She Wrote and she felt as if she was looking too tired on camera due to bags under her eyes. She had some tweaking done which left her looking refreshed but still like Angela Lansbury. I follow my mama’s mantra, moisturizerbaby, moisturize. 😉

Interesting about fanfiction.net Glad I never posted there now. My understanding from fanny is that Wattpad is now opening up their R-rated stuff rather than keeping it under “lock and key.”

As always, thanks for the round-up and the shout-outs, especially for my dad. 😀

    • I feel like there’s dynamic by which things that are innocent or harmless get cracked down while meanwhile there are truly dangerous things on the net that no one chases down. But whatever. I’m just a tiny content provider 🙂

  2. I have a strong feeling that this fandom is not going to be good for my overall productivity :). I have really only scratched the surface…many thanks for providing so many great links…and I could spend hours more. So much of what I read hits such a chord, from the kind of random minutia that I find hilarious (seems that a lot of RA fans do -“How do you pick your bathroom stall.” – I totally think like that!) to the more introspective or intellectual discussions. While I may not get everything I could/should accomplished, it has been great to realize that I’m not alone in my borderline obsessive behavior and there are “safe” places to emote upon it! Thanks!

    • probably not. It hasn’t been great for mine, either, but it’s been super for my sanity. And yes, there are lots of safe places.

  5. Thank you so much for recommending my posts. 🙂
Hmm, now I see that the declination foreign names in Polish can look pretty strange 🙂 and in fact many of my countrymen have a problem with it (make larger or smaller errors). I’m not sure if the preposition “z” is an instrumental but in the post about John Standring had the meaning “with”.
